Polyethylene
Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is one of the most successful product among industrial plastics. It can be characterized by excellent abrasion resistance and good sliding properties. Modified forms are also available, e.g. antistatic, low friction, metal detectable.
Most important features:
- excellent abrasion resistance
- excellent slide properties
- high impact strength
- no moisture absorption
- approved for use in the food industry
- continuous operating temperature: -200 °C to +80 °C
High molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE) has excellent cut, impact and shock resistance properties.
Most important characteristics:
- good mechanical properties
- good slide properties
- good impact resistance
- cutting resistance (can be used as a chopping boards)
- good resistance to chemicals
- no moisture absorption
- approved for use in the food industry
- continuous operating temperature: -100 °C to +80 °C
High density polyethylene (PE-HD, HDPE) is a plastic with lower abrasion resistance, less tensile strength compared to UHMWPE and HMWPE, but available at a lower price.
Custom-manufactured products made of polyethylene
We prepare plastic products in accordance with the customers’ needs with traditional machines and CNC milling stations. We can machine plastic sheets up to 1500 x 3000 mm with CNC technology.
We use ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) for example for preparing chain guides of roller chains and conveyor chains, curves of modular belts, wearstrips and other slide profiles.
High molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE) is often used as chopping board.
